'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' spoilers: Details about character who helped design the Death Star revealed
Details about a crucial character in the forthcoming movie “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” have surfaced online. The character is said to be one of the designers of the dreaded Death Star that the Empire builds to control the galaxy through fear.
[Spoiler alert]
According to a report by Heroic Hollywood, Mads Mikkelsen’s character will play a crucial role in the plot of the movie. The character’s name is expected to be Galen and he is said to be one of the designers of the Death Star super weapon, which is capable of destroying an entire planet.
Galen apparently takes over the Geonosian Death Star project and helps the Empire solve many of the flaws in the previous design. The character becomes a “revered” figure in the Empire for his contributions.
After having designed the super weapon, Galen will start to feel guilty about the destructive capabilities of the Death Star. The guilt leads to a change of heart and he plans to defect to the Rebellion.
The main plot of movie “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” revolves around the Rebellion trying to acquire the plans for the Death Star, in order to study it and try to find its weakness. Galen will take the help of his only daughter to take the plans over to the Rebellion.
The report notes that the spoilers about Galen seem to be in line with some of the comments director Gareth Edwards made previously. “ It’s the reality of war. Good guys are bad. Bad guys are good. It’s complicated, layered; a very rich scenario in which to set a movie,” Edwards had said about the characters in the movie.
Filming of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” is currently ongoing and the movie is slated to be released on Dec. 16, 2016 in Australia, New Zealand, US and the UK. Some of the cast members of the movie are Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Forest Whitaker, Donnie Yen and Diego Luna.
