Ruby Rose and Taylor Swift friendship gets the GLAAD boost; Troye Sivan kissed by two
“Orange in the New Black” star Ruby Rose has been awarded for her commitment towards the LGBT community, and the one awarding her was none other than music industry’s sweetheart Taylor Swift. Swift and Rose’s friendship is appreciated by all, and this time the “Wildest Dreams” singer presented the top gong to Ruby Rose at the annual GLAAD Media Awards (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Swift presented the Stephen F. Kolzak Award to Rose for making a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance, reports glaad.org.
“She tells the world that no one can judge us, and no one can stop us. She is a woman of many talents. She is my friend, Ruby Rose,” Swift said.
Previously, the award had been won by Rose’s “Orange is the New Black” co-star Laverne Cox, Ellen DeGeneres, Melissa Etheridge and Sir Ian McKellen among others.
“Tonight was EVERYTHING... Thank you @taylorswift thank you @glaad thank you to everyone who came out to be part of an amazing night. I feel truly blessed and humbled. I’m going to go cry and hold my pillow like a teddy now because I feel like I’m dreaming,” Rose captioned a photo she posted on Instagram.
“The true story of how one ‘sometimes girl’ (me) was surprised and brought to tears by a surprise ‘always amazing and giving’ girl @taylorswift ... Speeches, hugs and the most beautiful jacket holder in the world. Coming to a screen near you ... No I can't believe the passing of the coat was caught so magically ... ‘Are you sure Taylor?’... ‘I don't know ... I am really hot but also I don't think I can have you hold my coat,’” Rose captioned another photo, a collage of her moments with Swift at the awards.
Swift posted a photo of her and Rose planting kisses on Aussie sensation Troye Sivan’s cheeks. Rose too shared the photo.
Swift and Rose’s friendship was much talked about when Rose publicly slammed Kanye West for his derogatory lyrics targeted at Swift.
