What do Ryan Gosling, Avril Lavigne and Justin Bieber have in common? Well, apart from the obvious good looks and incredible gift of tuned vocal chords, the three Hollywood celebrities are closely related. Ancestry.com has recently discovered that the Bieber is distantly related to Gosling and Lavigne.

Justin Bieber is no stranger to fame given his phenomenal break from YouTube. However, it looks as if fame runs deep for the Bieber with regards to genealogist's recent findings and claims. Apparently, Justin has been found to be distant cousins with Hollywood big shots, Celine Dion, Ryan Gosling and Avril Lavigne.

"Genealogists at Ancestry.com say they've discovered teen idol Justin Bieber is a distant cousin of movie star Ryan Gosling and singer Avril Lavigne. Their family link dates back to some of Quebec's earliest settlers 400 years ago," said the Utah-based company, Thursday.

"The great thing about family history is that you never know what you're going to find," said a researcher from Ancestry.com, Michelle Ercanback. "It was a very pleasant surprise," added Michelle.

It has been found that Bieber and Gosling were 11th cousins while Bieber and Lavigne were 12th cousins. These celebrities shared common relatives in Marguerite Bire and Mathurin Roy in the early 16000s. As for Dion, Justin and Celine are said to be 10th cousins three times removed linked to French couple, Marie Boisdon and Jacques Vezina of the early 1600s.

In short, Bieber, Dion, Lavigne and Gosling are all connected thanks to settlers back in the province of Quebec tied back 400 years ago. It's an impressive family lineage judging from their fame now. Maybe these four could do a quartet in hopes of proving their vocal lineage.

Michelle Ercanback did however say that these celebrity links are not that "sufficient to point of the existence of a superstar gene." This isn't the first time Ancestry.com has come up with such claims. Back in July, the same website had found out that President Barrack Obama was a direct descendant of an African Slave simply from the examination of Obama's white mother's family history.

Still, it would be up to Bieber to believe the claims or not.
