Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs ATIV S: Which is the Best Samsung Smartphone at IFA 2012? [VIDEOS]
South Korea-based tech giant Samsung released two brand new smartphones at the IFA 2012 event in Berlin.
Apart from the highly anticipated release of Galaxy Note 2, Samsung also released its new line of devices with the introduction of Samsung ATIV S - a smartphone run by the new Windows 8 operating system.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 never failed to wow critics with its amazing specs and features including its improved stylus - S-Pen. However, the ATIV S expanded the horizon of Samsung by catering a device to the people who want Windows 8 in their smartphones.
With the launch of these two amazing devices, which one will you get? Below is the comparison of the two devices.
Operating System
One of the significant differences between the two is their operating systems. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is equipped with Android version 4.1 Jelly Bean by Google. The ATIV S, on the other hand, is powered by Microsoft's Windows 8 mobile OS.
Processor
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 inched a notch over the ATIV S by having a quad-core processor clocked with 1.6GHz compared to the ATIV S's quad core processor clocked with 1.5 GHz.
RAM Storage
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has 2GB RAM which is greater than the ATIVS's 1GB RAM.
Connectivity
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 supports that fast 4G/LTE connectivity. The newly released ATIV S supports 3G - HSPA+. However, a 4G model is expected to be released later this year.
Screen Display
The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 wows critics with its massive screen with its 5.5-inch screen size. It belittled the ATIV S's 4.8-inch screen, which is similar to the Galaxy S3.
Camera
The two devices sport 8MP rear camera and 1.9MP camera on the front.
Battery
One of the common complaints on the original Galaxy Note is its battery life. Samsung heard the pleas of the users and packed the new device with a massive 3100mAh slim battery, which offers longest standby time yet. The ATIV S only has 2300 mAh.
Over the years, catering to different target markets has been the advantage of Samsung over other mobile phone manufacturers. Watch the videos below of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and ATIV S.
