Sony officially unveiled the Xperia Z Ultra popularly known as Togari that will battle against other phablets in the market such as the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

At an event held in China, Sony introduced the Sony Xperia Z Ultra Triluminous screen has 6.4 inches size and has 1080p resolution with 344 ppi pixel density. It uses Sony's OptiContrast and X-Reality tech, which is the successor of the Mobile BRAVIA tech.

The new phablet has a powerful Adreno 330 GPU paired with a new Snapdragon 800 chipset, which also packs a quad-core Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. That makes the Sony Xperia Z Ultra the first device to go official with the 800 chipset and it will surely be quite the benchmark champion when it comes up.

The Ultra packs 4G LTE connectivity, HD Voice along with NFC. There's also Sony's proprietary WALKMAN player with ClearAudio+ and xLOUD enhancements. The device has an 8 megapixel rear shooter.

The Sony Xperia Z Ultra will run with 4.2.2 version of Android Jelly Bean OS. Moreover, you can use a regular pencil or pen as a stylus as well as a capacitive stylus to the device. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is expected to be launched in Q3 this year in three color versions - white, black and purple.

On the other hand, Some of the rumoured specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are: 6.3-inch Full HD screen display; unbreakable, flexible screen; 8-core Exynos 5 Octa processor chip; stylus And finger hovering feature; Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie OS; 16 megapixel rear camera with auto focus, LED flash and BSI and 3 megapixel front camera with 'Best Photo,' 'Best Faces,' low light show and BSI; 32, 64 and 128 GB internal memory options expandable storage via microSD cards; 4,000 mAh Li-on battery.

It is initially reported that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to make its debut in the third quarter of this year. Rumours point to possible September release date. There are speculations that Samsung will hold the announcement of the Note 3 on the annual IFA event in Berlin. The said launch will allow Samsung to maximize its profits and to complete the tried-and-tested September product cycle of the Galaxy Note series.
