Samsung Galaxy S II Available in Telstra 4G
Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S II is now available exclusively in Telstra and enjoying the 4G benefits of the network.
Telstra has now two 4G-enabled handsets after Samsung joined the umbrella. Another 4G phone that Telstra offered is HTC Velocity 4G.
Samsung's Galaxy S II 4G, an 800x400, 4.5-inch, SuperAMOLED equipped handset with a 1.5GHz dual core processor. Android 2.3.6 (aka Gingerbread) is loaded onto the phone, which is upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich. The smartphone is also equipped with an NFC chip for NFC tag reading and Telstra's announcement of the availability of the new phone is just as silent.
Multimedia functions include an 8-megapixel camera and 1080p full HD video recording. The phone comes with 16GB of built-in memory, a large battery with a capacity of 1850mAh, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n support, and Bluetooth 3.0+HS. The Galaxy SII 4G has HD Voice support which enables crisper, clearer calls when chatting to other people with HD Voice compatible handsets on the Telstra Mobile Network.
One can take home a Galaxy S II 4G tomorrow by just availing a $59 on a plan adding additional $5. The handset can be purchased online from today and from Telstra Stores around Australia starting tomorrow.
According to the press release of Telstra, "customers using the Samsung GALAXY S II 4G in 4G coverage areas (capital city CBDs, associated airports and more than 80 regional and metropolitan locations) can access typical download speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 40Mbps and typical upload speeds from 1Mbps to 10Mbps."
"When outside 4G coverage areas the Samsung GALAXY S II 4G uses HSPA+ Dual Channel technology to serve up Australia's fastest 3G speeds so customers can enjoy super-fast 3G download speeds ranging from 1.1Mbps-20Mbps in all capital CBDs and much of the associated metropolitan areas and many regional locations. Outside of these areas the device transitions to Telstra's fastest available 3G speeds," Telstra added.
