Samsung Galaxy S3 Price Plummets as Galaxy S4 Pre-Order Nears
Samsung Galaxy S3 price significantly dropped and is now available for as low as $10 as carriers and resellers prepare for the onslaught of pre-orders for the recently released Samsung Galaxy S4.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is less than a year-old, but the phone's successor is on the way to U.S. carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon as early as April.
Samsung Galaxy S4 prices range from $99 with monthly payments to $249 with a two-year contract, and we may see more variations as the Verizon and Sprint Galaxy S4 release details emerge.
Nearly all the major U.S. Carriers are offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 for a lower price now that the Galaxy S4 is almost here. The only holdout is Verizon. Without digging deeper Verizon customers would have no clue that the carrier is planning a Verizon Galaxy S4 release. With no Galaxy S4 landing page or pre-order details, Verizon is keeping the Galaxy S3 price firm at $199 with a two-year contract, but savvy shoppers can get a better deal.
The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 is now $99 on a two-year contract, and the off contract price is even lower at just $449. Sprint is offering the Samsung Galaxy S3 for $99 to new customers. T-Mobile which is now offering payment plans for phones dropped the price of the Samsung Galaxy S3 to $69 up front, with $20 monthly payments. Amazon is also selling Samsung Galaxy S3 at friendly prices.
Samsung Galaxy S3 features a 4.8-inch, 306ppi (pixels per inch) 1280 x 720 Super AMOLED Plus HD display, Android 4.0 (upgradable to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean), a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal memory, and 2GB of RAM.
It also has an 8-megapixel rear camera with zero shutter lag and LED Flash, a 1.9-megapixel front camera, 1080p HD video capture (rear camera), 720p HD video capture (front-facing camera), 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC (near field communications), a microSD slot with support for up to 64GB microSD cards and a 2,100 mAh removable battery.
It seems that Samsung still wants to maximize the profits they could gain from selling Samsung Galaxy S3, especially to first time smartphone users. There is no exact date yet as to when the Samsung Galaxy S4 will arrive to major carriers.
