Want to get two Samsung Galaxy S4 handsets for the price of one? Sprint is now offering a pretty sweet deal for those who want the Samsung's latest flagship device.

Sprint's offer, according to Phone Arena, offers the Samsung Galaxy S4 for only $200, and it comes with a two-year contract, but the second one is yours for free, no strings attached.

Even with all the competition around, as well as upcoming devices such as the LG G2 with bigger RAM memory at 3GB, and the much-leaked and rumoured Moto X.

The offer expires on August 15. Samsung Galaxy S4 is a pretty good deal if you're thinking of buying a new phone, especially since it comes with a second unit for free, which you can either give as a gift or give to a family member to both upgrade your phones to Samsung's latest flagship.

A less advantageous deal but still something worth looking into for those who want to get a contract with Verizon is a $100 price cut to offer a 32 GB Samsung Galaxy S4 at $199 on-contract, reports Android Police.

Best of all, the deal from Amazon Wireless and Wirefly, is offered to both new and returning customers who will sign a new contract, and already offers free shipping. It's just one handset, but it offers a good $100 off for a phone that already has a pretty big memory storage capacity.

Better think twice about "whoops-proof"

Another of Samsung's best-selling S4 variants is the Active version, which is touted tot be the device for those with a more active lifestyle.

But you may be looking at a version that's only just a bit more rugged compared to its other counterpart.

Considering the advertisements that have been made for the phone, which put it as a water-proof phone that has the ability to take underwater photos, VentureBeat reports that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active may really just be water-resistant at best.

The biggest boo-boo that Samsung may have failed to rectify is that it has an Aqua mode, which gives the impression that it has settings that have been made specifically for when you plan to use it underwater--when in fact, it may not necessarily work half of the time.

What's worse is that the liability of the company does not cover the damages that can be acquired with the use of the phone underwater, as quoted in the phone's manual:

"This Limited Warranty does not cover: (a) defects or damage resulting from accident, misuse, abnormal use, abnormal conditions, improper storage, exposure to liquid, moisture, dampness, sand or dirt..."

VentureBeat already lists some of the complaints that users have with the phone in relation to the whoops-proof promise, stating that even 10 seconds of the phone being underwater can result to its quality and system being compromised--even with the precautions that Samsung has included for those who want to take underwater pictures.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is a pretty solid phone, perhaps only marred with a stretch in advertising its features. For those who are still looking at it as a viable phone, better not stretch its capabilities to what most rugged phones offer--resistance against some of the elements like water, dust, and grime, but not necessarily a sure proofing from them.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 4G goes straight to Android 4.3?

If you're torn between sticking with your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and buying a Galaxy Note 3 when it releases this summer, there's a reason to wait it out a while more. It seems that, instead of getting the Android 4.2.2 update for you Note 2, reports have leaked that the Note 2 will be getting the latest Android 4.3 update.

According to Sam Mobile, the rumour of the Android 4.2.2 for both the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 has been replaced with the possibility of a direct update to the Android 4.3.

In the report, Australian provider Telstra has already confirmed that it will not be rolling out the Android 4.2.2 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 4G, which is a sure sign that it will head straight to what the update that the upcoming Note 3 is said to be rolling out with.

Considering the rumoured specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, not to mention that fact that there is a big possibility that it will roll out several variants of the same device, it's not far off to think that the other devices are merely refreshes of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, or just lower versions of the Note 3.

Whatever the case may be, an update for the a direct update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 4G to Android 4.3 is a great deal, though the schedule of when this will be rolled out has not yet been revealed.
