Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Confirmed Release Date, Specs to Neutralise iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and Nexus 5?
Mobile device behemoth Samsung is reportedly all set for the much-awaited release date of the Galaxy S4 Mini, which reports said will work in tandem with the regular-sized Galaxy S4 to defeat this year's top smartphone lineup.
In a new indication that Samsung is secretly working to unleash the S4 Mini, a 'user string agent' was leaked and initially picked up by Dutch blog site TechTastic.
The discovery points to a Galaxy handset bearing the model number GT-i9190, which earlier reports have attributed to the upcoming mobile phone that bears close resemblance to the GS4 though stripped down in specific respects.
The fresh information confirmed previous speculations that the S4 Mini is flashing a qHD display resolution of 960 x 540 on its 4.3-inch screen and will draw its power from an ARM 11 chip architecture, which will reflect both the dual-core and quad-core processing muscles depending on market locations.
Swirling rumours strongly suggest that the S4 Mini is a JellyBean 4.2.2 handset with a main snapper, 8MP, that is similar to that of the iPhone. Later reports have alluded too that Samsung intends to pit the S4 Mini against the flagships coming from rival firms.
While the S4 Mini specs are powerful enough, it is understood that its main draw is focused on two things - its compact size and its assumed affordability.
Samsung has yet to provide specific pricing for the smaller GS4 but it is expected that it will assume the same price levels carried by the Galaxy S3 Mini, which initially retailed at around $400 unlocked in markets worldwide.
However, should major telcos around the world will distribute the S4 Mini, experts expect the price tag to go lower than $US150, which is the lowest mark of the Galaxy S4 in the United States.
Or the handset can be given for free in exchange for a two-year contract, which was the case in the United Kingdom earlier this year.
Nothing definite is given on the Galaxy S4 Mini release date but it should be safe to assume that it will follow shortly after the global rollout of the GS4, which will commence selling in the U.S. next week.
Samsung has hinted too that it will push out the S4 Mini as quickly possible in all targeted regions, including the Asia-Pacific. That should mean Aussie buyers will be among the first recipients of the new Android device.
