The Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 are first in line for the rumored Android 5.0 update which we expect Google will announce in May at Google I/O, according to a leaked list of phones getting the Android 5.0 update.

It is not a surprise that the new Samsung Galaxy S4 will get the update. However, if Samsung hastens the roll out of the OTA update of their handsets, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 will receive their own updates as well.

According to SamMobile, an insider at Samsung let slip a list of Samsung smartphones which will get the Android 5.0 update and many of the most popular smartphones are on the list including the Samsung Galaxy note 2 and Galaxy S3. We've heard rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S3 will get an upgrade with Galaxy S4 software features in an Android 4.2 update, but it's possible some of these features will wait for a major upgrade.

The list of Android 5.0 updates for Samsung devices currently includes the following devices, but SamMobile cautions this list is not final. The list covers a variety of regional variants for each device.

Samsung Galaxy S3

Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Galaxy Note 8.0

According to the leak, the Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 will see an Android 4.2. update, but that is the last update these devices will receive.

The insider claims that the Android 5.0 update from Google is expected to be a big one, which means Samsung may need to take significant time and resources to upgrade even the Galaxy S4 to Android 5.0.

Google is expected to announce Android 5.0, aka Android Key Lime Pie at Google I/O in May. So far there are few details about what to expect, but Gotta Be Mobile put together a wish list of Android 5.0 features.

On the other hand, The rumoured Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is expected to launch in May at Google I/O along with the successor of the popular LG Nexus 4.

However, there is no official confirmation from LG or Google as well as from Samsung regarding the list of devices getting the update.
