Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is pegged on March-April 2014 and will commence mass production in January, according to the latest report from ET news.

This confirmed that Samsung Galaxy S5 is indeed coming in the first quarter of next year. Samsung will start producing an amount of 800,000 to 1 million units in January, and will ramp it up to 6 million units somewhere in February.

The report also said that the next Galaxy S smartphone will be released alongside Galaxy Gear 2, which is highly unlikely since Samsung just released the smartwatch last September. The unpopular Galaxy Gear has not turned many heads as the company reportedly generated only 50,000 sales. Thus, a successor may be unnecessary.

SamMobile noted that the poor sales of Samsung Galaxy S4 is the prime motivation in releasing the device earlier. Samsung have come up with rivals 6 months device update strategy against its rivals.

There are rumours that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will come in two variants. We are speculating that these variants may be the usual U.S. and international versions of Samsung Galaxy S smartphones or it could be the colours, which the device will boot. Other rumours claimed that Samsung Galaxy S5 will have a "premium" and "low cost" versions. The "premium" model will sport a metal case, and a flexible OLED and the cheaper version will boot the normal OLED and a plastic chassis. Nevertheless, Samsung has not confirmed yet any of these rumours.

Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack 64-bit processor as Samsung and ARM confirmed last week that it will soon launch a 14nm 64-bit Exynos 6 CPU chips in 2014. The ARM official said that the new processor will be similar to iPhone 5S' 64-bit A7 CPU. This is also what Samsung exec JK Shin said in his statement last September.

Some of the other most probable features to be packed on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 are 16MP ISOCELL camera and 2,560 x 1,440 WQHD and 560 ppi resolution. On Samsung's annual Analyst Day, it announced that its smartphones arriving in 2015 will pack Ultra High Definition 4K displays. Samsung Galaxy S5 will also pack the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS heralding new Android features.
