Samsung Galaxy S6 And Galaxy S6 Edge’s Display Plagued With Unfixable Issue (Video Inside)
The Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge flagships are being praised by Samsung and critics for its refreshing new design and features. However, leaked information reveals that the displays of both the flagships are marred with serious and unfixable issue.
According to G for Games via Asia Today (Korean publication), the portion of the displays near the bezels on both the versions of the Galaxy S6 lack sensitivity to register touch input. The issue seems to be more prominent on the Galaxy S6 handset as the video (below) shows that a larger section of the display is unable to register touch input.
The problem is also present on the Galaxy S6 Edge but it is not as prominent as it is on the Galaxy S6. G for Games claims that the issue can impact the performance of both the devices as users quite often use swipe gestures from the side to navigate on the display.
G for Games further adds that the issue is unfixable with a software update since the issue is with the hardware components for registering touch input. What Samsung can do in this situation is either it can fix the problem before the flagships are released into the market or the forthcoming batches of Galaxy S6 duo can be launched with the fixed displays.
Even though the Korean publication has revealed the issue related with the displays both the handsets, the president of DisplayMate, Raymon Soneira says that the Galaxy S6 sports the best display in the world. He adds that its only competition is the other Samsung product, the Galaxy Note 4.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge were announced on March 1 in Barcelona, Spain. Both the handsets sport similar technical specifications and are designed elegantly than the predecessor Galaxy S models. The 5.1-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display of the Galaxy S6 supports a pixel count of 577 ppi. Soneira claims that it offers perfect contrasts, brightness and great viewing angles.
What do you think about the issue? Will you buy the new Samsung Galaxy S6 in spite of being aware of the touch registration issue on the display? Do let us know your thoughts by posting comments.
