Samsung Offers up to $300 for old Smartphones
Will you upgrade to the new Samsung device if the company will say that will slash up to $300 on the price?
If you think iPhone trade-in is the best thing yet, think again. Samsung accepts any kind of smartphone and will give you a discount if you will upgrade to a Samsung smartphone. Yes, Samsung announced that it will offer consumers up to $300 for their old smartphones if they will upgrade to any of Samsung devices.
Last Monday, Samsung posted on their Facebook page that users who upgrade to a Samsung smartphone will get a quote for their old smartphone. Once they buy a new Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note or any other Samsung smartphones, users will mail in their old smartphone and wait for the rebate in the mail.
This not very bad since iPhone 4S 64GB in perfect condition will get users the full $300 rebate, according to the Samsung upgrade page. After a large price drop, an iPhone 4S 32GB is going for $230 and the 16GB for $215.
According to the Facebook post of Samsung on their official page:
Upgrading is simple. You'll get a quote, purchase a new Samsung smartphone, and mail in your old phone within 30 days. Then you'll get a check mailed to you for your refund. If you've already purchased a new Samsung smartphone, have the proof of purchase handy.
Thus, a user can purchase the new Samsung Galaxy S3 for $200 or Samsung Galaxy Note for $250 when you exchange an iPhone 4S 64GB.
There is an intense tension between Samsung and iPhone and this is the former's way to take over the US market since both Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note are both doing well in the tech market. Moreover, Samsung are expected to bring out its bigger guns later this month.
According to the latest report of IDC, Samsung overtook Apple in the smartphone market with the release of Samsung Galaxy S3.
Unfortunately, this promo is currently available in the US. One of the main reasons is that US is the strongest Apple market and where Samsung do poorly. Australians may enjoy the same perks soon. Australia is considered as one of Samsung's strong markets as a lot of people prefer Android devices.
