Samsung will unveil its smart watch, the Galaxy Gear, on Sept 4. The event will be held two days before the IFA Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin and six days ahead of the expected roll out on Sept 10 of the iPhone 5C and 5S, according to Bloomberg.

The Samsung unveiling will also be held in Berlin, based on press invitations sent out by the South Korean tech giant in the earlier part of August. The event, called Unpacked Episode 2, is a repeat of the Unpack a year ago in the same pre-IFA event, when Samsung unveiled the Note II.

Samsung filed in late July an application for a U.S. trademark for the name Samsung Galaxy Gear for its wearable digital electronic devices in the form of a wristwatch, wrist band or bangle that provides as well Internet access. It could also send and receive phone calls, emails and messages, making it unnecessary for the wearer to check his smartphone frequently.

Besides the Galaxy Gear, Samsung is also expected to unbox in the same event the Note III, which would likely have a flexible screen.
