Sarah Paulson Talks About Her Role In Season 5 'American Horror Story-Hotel', Wishes To Become Lady Gaga's Good Friend
Sarah Paulson played the conjoined twins Dot and Bette in “American Horror Story-Freak Show.” She is returning to play “the baddest bad girl of them all” on “American Horror Story” Season 5, according to co-creator Ryan Murphy. The actress recently teased that she has never played a villain on FX’s horror anthologies series and the upcoming season, subtitled "Hotel," may see her in that element.
“I’ve never played any villain on the show, so perhaps there’s going to be an element on bad, bad girl,” Paulson told Greg Gilman of The Wrap. She shot down the rumour that she is playing Jane Joplin -- the American singer-songwriter who died at the age of 27 in 1970 because of drug overdose-- saying that she would love to play her but she is not doing that.
In addition to playing the wicked character, Paulson is also looking forward to bonding with the popular pop singer Lady Gaga, who has also been roped in for a series regular role. The actress said that it would be embarrassing for her if she does not become good friends with Gaga by the end of Season 5. Also she would like to have Gaga’s phone number so she could directly contact her. The Wrap has quoted her as saying “The fact that I’m announcing that I want that is what should be terrifying to Lady Gaga.”
In addition to Paulson, the other series regulars who are returning are Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Evan Peters. According to Murphy’s Twitter posts, Bates will be running the hotel, Peters will be waiting in room number 64 of the hotel and Bassett will be creating trouble in the ballroom and everywhere else.
As previously reported, Peters said to GoldDerby that he is scared of filming the new season as he finds hotels terrifying. He believes the Season 5 sets are going to be “gorgeous.” He, however, like Paulson, did not spill spoilers about his role and Season 5 storyline.
Meanwhile, Matt Bomer, Max Greenfield, Cheyenne Jackson, Chloe Sevigny and Wes Bentley have also signed on to appear in the upcoming season. The production on “American Horror Story” Season 5 is expected to begin in July in Los Angeles. It is set to premiere sometime in October.
