'Scandal' season 6 episode 11 spoilers: Olivia’s life in danger, Mellie determined not to give up Oval office
Cyrus is finally claiming the most powerful seat in the world while Mellie is determined to block his way to the Oval office. Olivia’s life will be in danger once again in this week’s “Scandal” season 6 episode 11.
On Thursday’s episode, titled “Trojan Horse,” Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) is rising to the White House after he was declared clear of charges in connection to Frankie Vargas’ (Ricardo Chavira) assassination. In a press conference, David Rosen (Joshua Malina) announces that Cyrus is not involved in Vargas’ murder.
However, it looks like Cyrus’ road to the Oval office will have some bumps. The synopsis for the upcoming episode teases that the power struggle into the White House will claim another life. Who will die next? Will it be Olivia (Kerry Washington), Cyrus or Rosen?
The promo for next episode shows that Olivia seems to have accepted the fact that Cyrus will be taking the White House. However, Eli Pope (Joe Mortin) tells his daughter that Cyrus cannot be the next leader of the country. If that happens, Eli says, someone will definitely kill Olivia.
The teaser also shows Jake (Scott Foley) seemingly smothering Rosen with his hand. The life at risk could be Huck’s (Guillermo Diaz), too. In the past episode, Huck almost died. He has already woken up from a coma and is likely to recover from his wounds. But as “Scandal” fans know, if Olivia’s life in danger, Huck will do what he thinks is necessary to save her.
Meanwhile, Mellie (Bellamy Young) has no plans to give up her dream to become United States' president just yet. She is willing to do everything to secure her position in the White House.
The promo for the episode shows Mellie and Olivia talking about the elections and Cyrus' rise to the top. Olivia realizes that there's nothing they can do to kick Cyrus off his position. The two also realize that once Cyrus assumes office, he will go after them next. However, Mellie tells Olivia that she is not giving up the fight.
Who will be the next POTUS? Creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes earlier admitted that they had a deliberation on whether or not they will introduce a new president before the season ends.
“We are breaking and writing the finale right now, and there’s a large debate in the room about whether or not we’re going to get a new president. I think we are,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
“Scandal” season 6 episode 11 airs on Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on ABC in the US. The drama series also airs in Australia on Seven Network.
