The Kyle and Jackie O tandem may be hard to beat, but it might be possible with a little sprinkle of spice. Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown is joining Jules Land, Merrick Watts, and Sophie Monk in a new breakfast show from 2DayFM, which will replace the departing show of duo Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson.

In November, Kyle and Jackie announced that they are ending their 10-year run on Southern Cross Austereo for Sydney’s KISS 1065 (MIXFM) starting in January.

Their departure left the breakfast slot of 2DayFM open, but not for long. Mel B spoke on “Today” in a video cross from Los Angeles on Friday to confirm that she is joining the new morning radio show that will replace “Kyle and Jackie O.”

“I’m so excited, this is going to be one hell of a roller coaster ride,” the former Scary Spice said. “I just can’t wait to be honest.”

Lund, Watts, and Monk are set to be the main hosts of the new program, while Mel B will be joining them daily on the show.

SCA head of content Craig Bruce has been quoted by the AdNews as saying of the upcoming team, “I’m one happy chappy. We’re obviously really excited about the new line-up. We’re looking forward to bringing some new ideas and fresh, original thinking to 2Day breakfast in 2014.”

Meanwhile, Mel B is set to become the first artist in history to accept bitcoin as payment for her work. She is teaming up with Cloudhashing.com to allow fans to purchase her new single “For Once In My Life” with the encrypted digital currency from December 25 onwards through her Web site.

“Bitcoin unites my fans around the world using one currency. They can just pay using bitcoins!” she said in a press release announcing the unprecedented move.
