SDCC 2016: Marvel's 'Doctor Strange' releases new trailer, film to premiere on November 4 [VIDEO]
Following Marvel's announcement of upcoming films, more of 'Doctor Strange' was unveiled
The latest preview for the upcoming Marvel film “Doctor Strange” was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con on July 24. The trailer is also available for viewing at Marvel’s official YouTube account. “Doctor Strange” will be released on Nov. 4.
The first teaser for “Doctor Strange” was released in April. The second trailer showed a more in-depth view of Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange’s life before he became a magic-wielding superhero. Prior to his transformation, Dr. Stephen was a neurosurgeon whose career changed when he was injured in a vehicular accident. He then set out on quest of healing where he met the Ancient One, who mentored him in mastering the mystic arts. The trailer also revealed more the sorcerers’ war, which is the central plot of the movie.
"I'm a little bit shocked. I'm sorry. Oh my god, that is quite a big movie," lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch could not contain his enthusiasm after the trailer was shown. "I've got a little shake. My heart is pounding."
The rest of the confirmed cast are Chiwetel Ejifor as Karl Mordo, Benedict Wong as Wong, Mads Mikkelsen as Kaecilius and Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One. Wong and Kaecilius are one of the Masters of Mystic Arts. "The Notebook" leading lady Rachel McAdams stars as Christine Palmer, Doctor Strange's fellow surgeon and closest confidante. Michael Stuhlbarh portrays Nicodemus West, a scientist and rival to Strange. Scott Adkins, Amy Landecker and Zara Phytian were confirmed to have roles in the movie, however their roles remain undisclosed.
Following the latest preview of “Doctor Strange,” Marvel sent the viewers at Hall H of San Diego Comic-Con abuzz with announcements of “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Captain Marvel” and “Black Panther.
“Doctor Strange” will hit cinemas in November. The movie is directed by Scott Derickson, who previously worked on horror films "Sinister" and "Devil's Knot."
