According to Yahoo News, other UFO sites have supported the claims by suggesting that it was part of a "secret space programme" which had started in 1968. According to the sites, humans landed on Mars as part of the "secret space programme."
Conspiracy theorists are of the belief that the information is being kept from the public due to a few sinister reasons. It was mentioned on Yahoo that the conspiracy theorists believed that NASA as well as other government were in contact with aliens.
A few of the theorists suggested that the Mars Curiosity Rover is a giant hoax. They believed that the Curiosity Rover's shiny solar panels was enough evidence that they were being polished by humans on Mars.
Nigel Watson is an author who wrote Haynes UFO Investigations Manual. He said that the accounts of secret space missions were growing in number. He added that it reminded him of the Project Serpo.
Project Serpo was an alleged top-secret exchange programme between the government of the United States and an alleged planet called Serpo. According to Watson, in November 2005, an "anonymous" person, who claimed to be working for the US Defence Intelligence Agency, sent out information about Project Serpo. His claim, the "anonymous" person said, was based on a document that was written in the 70s. "Anonymous" also claimed that six aliens were recovered from the site of the Roswell crash.
Watson said that claims about aliens living or dead that were recovered from the site of the Roswell crash was not new. He said in this case, it was stated that an alien survivor called EBE 1 had allegedly organised for twelve specially trained people to visit Serpo in the solar system called Zeta Reticuli.
Watson continued that the mission took place in 1965 and the specially trained people remained in Serpo for a span of 13 years, until 1978. He said that two of them died, while two others remained on the planet and the other eight returned to Earth. After their return to Earth, Watson said, they died due to their exposure to high amounts of radiation on Serpo.
