Selena Gomez releases emotional ‘Same Old Love’ video [WATCH VIDEO]
Selena Gomez has released the music video of her latest single “Same Old Love” from her new album, “Revival."
She posted the music video, which was shot by director Michael Haussman, on Apple Music on Wednesday.
The music video shows the singer riding in the back of a car. She is looking outside, observing people and their emotional moments. The video wraps up with her performance onstage, in front of a cheering crowd. She is wearing a black cocktail dress paired with black boots.
Gomez is seen singing, "I'm so sick of that same old love, that ... it tears me up/I'm so sick of that same old love, my body's had enough, I'm so sick of that same old love, feels like I've blown apart/I'm so sick of that same old love, the kind that breaks your heart."
In an interview with Radio Disney, Gomez said that the lyrics of her new single were inspired by a new kind of love, Hollywood Life reported. The radio interview is scheduled to air in October.
“I think ‘Same Old Love’ represents a different kind of identity with love… The first people you love in your life are your parents. So for me, my dad is the first male figure I had in my life," Gomez was quoted as saying. "And how much it means to respect your parents and have a healthy relationship with them because it trails on into your relationships when you’re older.”
“Same Old Love” is the singer's second single from her soon-to-be-released album, “Revival.” The track is currently No. 43 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and is expected to climb higher along with her first single “Good For You,” which is now at spot 5.
“Revival” is due on Oct. 9.
