Selena Gomez Talks Possible Lorde Reconciliation, Her Love For Taylor Swift And Demi Lovato
Selena Gomez is open to ending her alleged feud with Lorde. The 21-year-old former Disney star thinks that although the younger Kiwi songstress doesn’t like her, they’ll be “cool” someday.
The “feud” between Selena and Lorde started when the 17-year-old “Royals” hitmaker expressed her not so positive opinion about Selena’s song, “Come & Get It”
She told Rolling Stone magazine in a previous interview that her song represents women in a negative light, saying, “I love pop music on a music level. But I’m a feminist, and the theme of her song ‘Come & Get It’ is, ‘When you’re ready, come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.”
Selena has had some strong words of her own aimed at Lorde upon hearing the diss, alleging Lorde was not a true feminist for disparaging other women.
“There’s two different kinds of criticism. There’s the people that hide behind a computer and wait to say endless amount of things but never say it to your face, and then obviously there are the vocal ones. I appreciate everybody’s opinion, especially because I’ve covered her music a lot of times,” she told radio station Hot 99.5 in an interview in November.
Instead of answering, Lorde appeared to have not heard Selena’s comments about her and just continued on her merry way. She even became BFFs with Selena’s own BFF, Taylor Swift, which fans speculated that might have caused a little rift between Selena and Taylor.
But that wasn’t the case. In her latest interview with Seventeen magazine, Selena gave praises to both Lorde and Taylor.
Although Selena still thinks Lorde doesn’t like her, but she also thinks that they will be okay in the future.
“I recently did an interview and they asked me who I thought was up-and-coming and making a difference. I said, ‘She doesn’t like me, but Lorde.’ I’m going to support her whether she likes me or not because I think she’s doing great things,” Selena said.
“I’ve never met her, but she’s extremely talented, and she has a voice that she likes to use, and I think that’s great.
“Someday I will see her and we’ll be cool.”
She also mentioned her love for her best friends Taylor and Demi Lovato.
“I love my girl friends more than I’ve loved any of my boyfriends because they have supported me, loved me, and always stood by my side. Some girls will drop you in five seconds for the right guy. That’s not how it’s supposed to be,” she continued.
“That’s why I love Demi and Taylor – they support females and love to have that empowerment! I wish girls would stop hurting each other.”
