The Met Gala according to Hollywood life is all about making statements through high fashion, where stars can showcase their dress and promote its designer on television, and where they also "compete" to be voted under the A-list of best dressed stars. However, the Gala is not all about fashion, but also about reunion.
On May 5, stars paraded in their beautiful dresses and suits to participate in the annual Met Gala event in New York City. Among those stars were Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.
It's no secret that Selena and Taylor haven't been on speaking terms lately, and understandably fans are curious as to how they would react when they see each other at the event. It would be a little uncomfortable after weeks of no communication.
Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are reportedly in a feud over Selena's "ex-boyfriend" Justin Bieber. Not because Taylor wants Justin as her boyfriend, but because the "Love Story" singer thinks Bieber is not good for Selena. However, Selena couldn't seem to stop seeing Bieber and ignored Taylor's advice, thus caused the feud. According to Hollywoodgossip, when Taylor learned that Selena was going through a tough time in her relationship, she had reached out to the "Come and Get It" singer, but Selena ignored her attempts. A source told Hollywoodgossip that Selena refused to talk to Taylor for fear that she would only tell her "I told you so".
However, early morning of May 6, Selena Gomez posted an Instagram video of her and Taylor Swift dancing at the Met Gala. The 15-second video of the pair goofing around together at the grand event put the "feud" rumours to rest. The two singers were making faces at the camera before they danced around in their gowns. "Sometimes you wanna just be you with someone who knows all your secrets," reads the caption in the video.
The lyrics of the Dean Martin song playing in the background of the video, also suggests that the two stars have put their differences aside.
"Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind".
Despite the reconciliation, rumours are circulating that Selena took this video of her and Taylor just to spite Justin.
