Serena Williams baby shower: Williams and friends enjoy for two days, Meghan Markle absent

Serena Williams, who is almost five months pregnant with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian's baby, celebrated her new phase in life with a two-day baby shower with friends and family in Miami. According to various reports, the event took place at 1 Hotel & Homes South Beach. The guests included sisters Venus, Lyn and Isha, mom Oracene, soon-to-be sister-in-law Haley, niece Justus and Jill Smoller.

Meanwhile, Williams' pal and Prince Harry's girlfriend Meghan Markle was unable to attend the event. She was spotted kissing Harry at a polo event instead. It was her first official public outing and PDA with the Prince.

Williams reportedly had a healthy baby shower, and her group of friends not only went for healthy snacks and champagne but also indulged in “holistic treatments.” The event took place over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Her girlfriends were dressed in yellow. There has been speculation in the media that the baby shower was very “girly,” thus leading fans to believe that she may be expecting a girl. For the party, Williams herself wore a black dress and shades.

VLV Group's Val Vogt, who planned the event, told People that the baby shower included "lots of surprises" for Williams and "reflected her girlie personality.” Could she have a baby girl? Williams has not yet commented on the gender of the baby, as the couple wants to keep it a surprise for fans. “We’re waiting. [It’s] a surprise,” Williams said at the Met Gala, adding that they only address it as a “baby.”

Ohanian and Williams are not yet planning a wedding, though the two are already engaged. The 35-year-old beauty only has good things to share about her beau.
