Shakira Says She Wants Her Son Milan To Live A Normal Childhood, Requests Media To Keep Their Cameras At Bay
The children of famous personalities aren't really celebrities. However, part of being the children of famous parents is that they get to have a little share of their mom and dad's celebrity status. Recently, Colombian singer Shakira has voiced her concern over the media that keeps prying on her son's life. Shakira wishes that the media should stop "focussing" on her son with Spanish footballer Gerard Pique.
In an interview with Spanish news outlet ABC, Shakira admitted that she is the type of celebrity who likes to share pictures of her son Milan on social media. She said she wants her fans to see the early stages in Milan's life. However, Shakira has recently refused to have pictures of her son taken when the two-year-old toddler accompanied her at the opening of a children's store in Barcelona.
According to Shakira, she doesn't mind sharing pictures of Milan when he was younger to her fans and followers on social media, but now that his son is no longer a baby, she thinks it would be best for the media to stop prying so much on Milan. "I want my son to have a normal childhood, as much as possible," Shakira said.
Shakira and Pique are expecting their second child. The 37-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer is reportedly in the final stages of her second pregnancy. It is expected that she will be releasing a new album after the birth of her second baby.
Shakira has said that she is taking time to rest in preparation for the arrival of their new bundle of joy. She said that she tries to keep healthy during her pregnancy. She even plays tennis and dances Zumba to keep her body fit. She said that she is trying to take care of her body the best way that she can. She also makes sure that she maintains a healthy diet.
Shakira met Pique, who is 10 years younger, during the 2010 World Cup. He made a special appearance in the music video of the 2010 World Cup theme song "Waka-Waka." They announced their relationship in 2011. She gave birth to Milan in January 2013. Shakira is due to give birth to her second baby also in January 2015.
