Sheen’s lawyer says the actor’s termination ‘absurd and ridiculous’
Charlie Sheen’s lawyer, Marty Singer vows to 'respond accordingly' on the actor’s dismissal
The 11-page legal letter from Warner Bros. Television camp has argued that it could no longer conduct business with the troubled actor for various reasons.
As stated in the legal document sent by the legal team for the Warner Bros. Television, the producers decided to terminate the actor’s services due to his rampant use of alcohol and drugs, erratic behavior, and self-inflicted destruction and disintegration.
"After careful consideration, Warner Bros. Television has terminated Charlie Sheen's services on 'Two and a Half Men' effective immediately," the studio said in the letter as cited by the Agence France Presse.
Calling it ‘moral turpitude’, the lawyers for the producers, led by John Spiegel underscored why they decided to suspend the show for the rest of the season and to sack the beleaguered actor from the hit TV series.
"Regrettably, Mr. Sheen failed to continue with his rehabilitation program," says the letter. "The result has been a series of well-chronicled and increasingly erratic outbursts that have culminated with Mr. Sheen's public tirades of the last few weeks."
Sheen’s lawyer, Marty Singer has called the producers action to fire the actor as “absurd and ridiculous".
The actor's legal team strongly contended that the move was a simple ‘retaliation of the producers” against Sheen for lambasting the CBS’S big and powerful official, Chuck Lorre.
"We feel this is nothing more than Lorre flexing his muscles," says Singer, "and we intend to respond accordingly."
