There are only a few weeks before 2015 comes to a close. The year has been another eventful period in Hollywood given the many couple separations and relationships that turned sour. Let’s take a look back at some of the shocking Hollywood divorces that happened in 2015.

Many fans were surprised when music producer David Foster and Yolanda Foster announced their separation on Dec. 1. The former Hollywood couple had a nine year relationship, in which the last four years were spent together as husband and wife. The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star has been battling Lyme disease since 2012 and a source told Us Weekly that the “illness really did come between them."

The months of September to November were also riddled with celebrity divorces such as “Extant” actress Halle Berry and French actor Olivier Martinez, who filed for divorce in October after a two year marriage. Rumours of their separation first started when Berry was seen without her wedding ring over the summer, although the actress was said to have lost it, according to Entertainment Tonight .

The music celebrity couple Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne also decided to end their two year marriage in September, along with Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting. The “Big Bang Theory” actress filed for divorce from the tennis player after 21 months of marriage.

The month of August also saw several couple splits, two of which were Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green--who were married for 5 years, and Gavin Rossdale and “The Voice” coach Gwen Stefani, who cited "irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce.

Hollywood divorce may have been a common theme among “The Voice” judges this year, since Blake Shelton also found himself single again after he and Miranda Lambert announced their divorce on July. The two country music superstars were married for four years.

Meanwhile, one of the controversial separations this 2015 was Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s divorce, which they announced in June. Rumours of a nanny affair followed the two stars months after the split, however, Affleck and Garner still managed to put up a united front for the sake of the children.

The first quarter of the year also saw several Hollywood divorces, which included Hilary Duff and pro hockey player Mike Comrie who split in February after 5 years of marriage. The former “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink also ended their 15 year marriage in January.

With 2016 fast approaching, fans are hoping that their favorite celebrity couple won’t split up in the coming year.
