Homer Simpson is rumoured to have a new love interest named Candace. A video clip from the Season 27 premiere of "The Simpsons" gave fans a glimpse of the new woman in Homer’s life.

Homer and Marge were reportedly struggling with their marriage since long, Comic Book Resources writes, adding that Homer has finally found someone whom he might be involved with romantically in the next season of “The Simpsons.” Candace is a pharmacist in her 20s who gets attracted to Homer, while he was filing a prescription to find a cure to his recently-diagnosed narcolepsy.

Fans and players of the “Simpsons: Tapped Out Game” may be familiar with Homer’s sleeping condition and how he is currently battling it, Comic Book reports. The new character will be voiced by Lena Dunham, the creator, writer and star of the HBO series “Girls.”

Entertainment Weekly posted the new video clip, titled “Every Man’s Dream,” from the upcoming Season 27 of “The Simpsons.” The video shows Candace chatting to her friends about Homer and what she finds interesting in him. Her friends are apparently baffled at the fact that Candace is infatuated with an old, married man. Three of her buddies are also voiced by Dunham’s “Girls” co-stars Allison Williams, Zosia Mamet and Jemima Kirke.

Homer and Marge may not push through with the divorce in the first episode, although fans may expect the two to separate when Marge finally goes over the edge with her husband, the website said. The two might even be legally separated as the show progresses.

Executive producer Al Jean has hinted that there might be a twist to the entire plot. Some fans speculate that the experience might strengthen Homer and Marge’s marriage by the end of the season. Others cite their expectations over how the troubled marriage will affect other members of the Simpsons family.

“For those who are sick of marriage-crisis episodes, it goes on a completely different direction than any before,” Jean said.

“The Simpsons” Season 27 will begin on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. More updates and details on the upcoming episodes are bound to surface soon.
