New prizes lined up
As it usually goes with the progression of Acts in “The Simpsons Tapped Out” updates, five new prizes have been unlocked and available for the event. These are the Newark Newark Sign, the Lucky Casino, Casino Nessie, Woodstock Casino and Cregg Demon.
The first one is a decorative sign to light up the festive Las Vegas patch of ground for TSTO players. Both the Lucky Casino and the Woodstock Casino are buildings that earn income at a rate of 300 money and 30 XP for every 24 hours. Casino Nessie is a NPC, while Cregg Demon is a new character.
This is the second character lined up for the prize list, as Act 1 gave Lucius Sweet as the final prize. To attain the prizes, “The Simpsons Tapped Out” players will need to collect green chips instead of red, though the mechanics are the same. The chips will appear at a rate of 10 green chips for every Gambler tapped in the town. Sometimes, tapping Gamblers will also yield some crafting items, with martinis now popping out more frequently compared to Act 1.
Burns’ Casino Club Players Club
Tappers who are keeping a close watch on the prizes obtainable via the Burns’ Casino Players Club should also take note that the new prizes each have a corresponding Club Point reward. So far, there are advantages for following the prizes that can be obtained in this building.
Some of the prizes that can be won here include game tokens, crafting items and casino chips. More interesting is the tiered tower, which features the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Black Diamond Players Club Tower.
Upgrading tiers for crafting
A rather new mechanic for crafting is the new upgrade tier feature. In previous events, crafting had certain levels beyond collecting crafting materials. The most common mechanic had been upgrading a specific building in order to increase the number of crafting materials churned out.
This time, for the Casino update of “The Simpsons Tapped Out,” upgrading tiers is necessary for those who want to access higher level craftables. At Level 1, only the basic items can be crafted, such as the Walk of Fame Star, the Ficus Plant, the Cycling Spotlight, the Constant Fountain and the Sequence Fountain 1.
Players who have already upgraded to Burns’ Casino Crafting Level 2 will be able to access the Cowgirl Sign, the Exotic Tree, the Sequence Fountains 2 and 3 and the Life-sized Spruce Moose. The last level crafting items can already be seen in the game menu, but are still locked unless the player upgrades to Level 3.
To upgrade, the player will need to turn out any of the following: 50 horseshoe keychains, 40 coasters or 25 martinis. While there is no one strategy for crafting, it appears that the best thing to do is to upgrade tiers at the start of the event. Most players may have already upgraded tiers at this point. This is beneficial since it will make all of the crafting items available, so players can check and see what crafting materials they will need to get the items they want.
Electronic Arts has made crafting easier in the sense that the decorative items, such as the Walk of Fame Star, Ficus Plant, spotlights and fountains easier to craft, as they only require a small number of crafting items. Players should aim to craft the bigger prizes first, such as the Cowgirl Sign (20 keychains and 35 martinis) and the Life-sized Spruce Moose (60 coasters and 80 martinis).
New items in the store
For premium players who have a few donuts to spare may want to check out some new items. A new skin Tuxedo Krusty is a great returning skin for 60 Donuts, as it was previously an episode tie-in offer. Players should note that Tuxedo Krusty is a skin that can has tasks at the Burns’ Casino, so it will be a good buy for players who do not have premium characters that can earn at the Casino, or those who may want more characters with casino tasks.
A Casino Boss Bart skin coupled with a Casino tree house is offered at 90 Donuts. Finally, for a more premium decoration centrepiece for any Las Vegas strip of land in “The Simpsons Tapped Out” is the Water Show Fountain, which is a little pricey at 55 Donuts.
