'The Sims 4' guide to resurrecting dead Sims
“The Sims 4” has had quite its fair share of extra content and expansions following its initial release in September 2014. Since then, additional downloadable content has been made available, including the “Get Together” expansion pack, “City Living” expansion pack, “Outdoor Retreat” game pack, “Spa Day” game pack and its more recent “Bowling Night Stuff” pack. The game previously released its “Vampires” expansion pack which allowed players to create Sims with different vampiric abilities. This was a notable add-on as it gave a supernatural twist to the game, especially in a title that allows players to play god in the Sims world. While there are several approaches to kill off Sims, there are also methods in the event of a player wanting to resurrect a deceased character.
One method in saving your Sim in “The Sims 4” is by simply not saving the game. Prevention is key, after all, and the same approach can be applied in video games. In the event that a Sim dies accidentally, players can simply reset the game and start all over. This is only applicable, however, in cases where the last save session took place before the Sim’s death.
Fans are already well-acquainted with Grim Reaper in “The Sims” franchise and so they are no stranger to him this time around. The Grim Reaper can be swayed into reviving a dead Sim with the use of a Death Flower. According to Carl’s Sims 4 Guide, this can be obtained if a Sim has a high enough level in Gardening. Offering the Death Flower to the Grim Reaper (who is said to always accept this gift) following the death of a Sim counts as a “Plead” Interaction option, and upon the Grim Reaper’s acceptance of the Death Flower, he will later bring the once dead Sim back to life.
Alternatively, there is the option to resurrect a Sim with the Book of Life. As per SimsVIP, this can be obtained by completing the “Bestselling Author” Aspiration after a Sim reaches Level 10 in the Writing Skill. Take note, however, that using the Book of Life on a dead Sim only brings back their ghost and not their physical form per se. It is also imperative to have the ghost in question be a part of your household with a 95% Friendship level. Though this may not bring back a Sim entirely, it’s still better than having a dead Sim overall.
There is, of course, the option of having the Sim remain deceased altogether and just creating a new character from scratch. “The Sims 4” is available for the PC.
