Siri Updates Line Up with iOS 9: Make Apple Fit Into The Competition In Bolstered Up Form
The Apple developers are heading towards the Worldwide Developers Conference, while the company is tight-lipped about the expected add-ons in the iOS 9. Apple’s iPhone and iPad customers expect the new mobile operating system, after June 8th WDC. Along with the invigorated iOS version, Siri is expected to have colourful paints.
Siri, the virtual assistant application will have additional specification, exclusively for voice assistance, says the CNET. Currently, the SIRI appears dull with colorless black and white pattern and Apple is planning to turn it into vibrant and radiant, with splash of colors on the display. Besides the aesthetic enhancement, real software improvements are to be employed on Siri.
Although Siri is not the major reason for choosing an Apple device, it definitely plays a leading role in swaying a buyer towards the Apple market. It was in 2011, Apple introduced SIRI on iPhone 4S and the application has been updated and revamped over the years, but now it faces plenty of challenges. Apple has to turn its focus on Siri, to make it more powerful and functional.
Gene Munster analyst Piper Jaffray conceived from a research that Google Now is more reliable and the most wanted than the Siri. Further, Google Now tends to lead the race, since it merges with both Android and iOS devices, via the regular Google app. Beyond Google Now, Microsoft is planning to expand Cortana, its mobile voice assistant over devices, including tablets and PCs. Expansion of Cortana may bring a unified milieu for PC and mobile users, invariably. Reuters confirm that Microsoft Cortana may march towards iOS devices. In such case, Siri should be more complete and competitive.
Apple has designed Siri to help the users by answering or by performing certain tasks. Improved MS Cortana works before hand, alerting with notifications, updates and appointments. If not better, at least the currently demanded features have to be included, to make Siri more appealing.
9to5Mac announced, in the early February, “iOS 9 will reportedly come with a number of 'under-the-hood' improvements,” denoting that the focus may not be just on the bug fixing rather Apple may check the stability and performance. If such serious improvements are ensured, Apple may fit in the competition.
