Smartphone Rumour: Motorola Working on Fingerprint Sensor on Moto G
Even though Apple has made fingerprint scanning system popular among the mass, Motorola was the one that initiated the technology back in 2011. Motorola Atrix 4G smartphone happens to be the very first handset which came up with fingerprint sensors. On the contrary, Motorola failed to lure the market with their innovation during those days. If the rumours have to be believed, Motorola seems to be all set to give it one more try.
According to GFXBench, Motorola's latest unannounced smartphone XT1032 (codename Falcon) is coming with a fingerprint scanner. If Motorola becomes successful in coming up with the rumoured innovation, the company will be rubbing shoulders with companies like HTC and Apple. Presently, HTC's One Max and Apple's iPhone 5S have the technology. HTC is coming up with another smartphone with fingerprint technology in the form of M8.
Except the touchscreen technology, Motorola T1032 also includes an 1196X720 display of which the size is unknown. It also has a Snapdragon S4 processor (1.2GHz quad-core). The smartphone is going to run on Android 4.4 Kitkat which happens to the latest version of Google.
Motorola is going to use the fingerprint sensor manufactured by Authentec. This technology was later acquired by Apple. This is the same technology which is used on iPhone 5S as the Touch ID scanner. Atrix 4G came up with the fingerprint technology which got many complaints from the users. They said that the fingerprint scanner stopped working within months. This was one of the main reasons why Motorola's ambitions related to fingerprint scanner met an untimely death.
On the other hand, Moto G, which is expected to launch on Nov 13, promises to be a low-cost smartphone. The phone is expected to have all the successful Motorola features that have impressed the international arena. Moto G, on the contrary, is going to have a limited release in the U.S. market.
