Sofia Vergara Breaks Silence On Embryo Battle With Ex Nick Loeb: 'A Baby Needs Parents'

Actress Sofia Vergara has finally opened up about the embryo battle with her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb. Sofia, who is now engaged to Joe Manganiello, said in her recent interview that it makes “no sense” to her why Loeb has filed a lawsuit over their frozen embryos. The “Modern Family” actress says she knows she is right and hence is not focusing her energies into it.

"I'm not going through anything. HE's going through it," said Sofia to Howard Stern, according to Entertainment Weekly. Loeb wants to bring their two frozen embryos to term but Sofia does not as she ended her engagement with him over a year ago. The actress also explains that she signed a contract with Loeb, which prohibits him to do so. She fails to understand why the actor has now chosen to purse the matter after a year.

The 42-year-old also told Stern that she does not “hate him but obviously he has a problem with me." She also firmly believes that “a kid needs parents” and she would never “imagine anyone saying it's sane to bring in the world already everything set up wrong for them.” The actress said that it would be selfish on her part if she chooses to bring those embryos to life.

Sofia “totally understands” that Loeb wants to enjoy fatherhood but she believes that there is a law guiding it. Loeb wrote an op-ed piece in New York Times where he expressed his desire to become a father through a surrogate mother. But Sofia said that they both were was fully aware of the contract, reviewed all the legal terms when they signed it. She does not understand why Loeb “want to change his mind” now.

Meanwhile, the actress said that she is completely “OK” with her decision as she believes that she is doing the right thing. She is too busy moving to new home with her fiancé Joe and the couple does not “try not to even talk about it.” Sofia and Joe were seen at the recent 2015 MET Gala event in New York on Monday night. Sofia wore a beautiful Marchesa gown in pale pink colour while Joe looked great in his black tux.
