The Jelly Bean update of Sony Xperia S continued to confuse many users due to the misinformation on its release date.

It seems that Sony Xperia S users may have to wait longer as the latest Jelly Bean of the device may not be able to make it by the end of the month as promised by the company.

In late April, Sony confirmed the Sony Xperia S Jelly Bean update, along with several other Jelly Bean updates, for roll out by the end of May. Since then, we've seen builds emerge, and we've even seen a regional arm of Sony exclaim that the Xperia S Android 4.1 update was rolling out. However, from the looks of things, there is a chance that Sony could miss the May deadline.

Sony France initially announced that the 4.1 version of Jelly Bean update for Sony Xperia S has started rolling out. This cause confusion to the excited users who have been waiting with pins and needles on the release of mobile software update.

However, Sony Germany corrected the mistake of Sony France and cleared that Sony Xperia S Jelly Bean update has not started rolling out to owners of the device. The German arm says that the roll out has not begun and that the software still hasn't been released. To make matters even more confusing than they already were, Sony Brazil has chimed in with its own information stating that the Xperia S update, at least in Brazil, will touch down in June.

Early this month, Sony Mobile's Poland division has confirmed that the much awaited update is already in its final stages and is bound for release in "a couple of days". Instead, the manufacturer has announced that the deployment process of the new OS on these devices will start at the end of May.

Once the update will start rolling out, the more notable changes you're going to experience on your device include the addition of Google Now, new WALKMAN, Album and Movies apps, a redesigned application tray, better battery life thanks to the inclusion of Battery STAMINA mode, as well as the option to add more desktop panes on your homescreen.

JellyBean will bring some exciting new features to the Xperia line such as "TalkBack" and "Gesture Mode." "TalkBack" reads what is present on the screen to the user and "Gesture Mode" allows low vision or blind users of the device to navigate using touch and swipe gestures along with speech output.

The JellyBean firmware will also improve the overall performance of these Xperia devices, making movement between home screens and switching between apps much smoother.

Sony Xperia S was launched in February 2012 running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, got the Ice Cream Sandwich later on and was confirmed as eligible for the Jelly Bean treatment. It will probably be the last update for the smartphone. The delay angered a lot of consumers.
