Sony Xperia Z4 Australia, Japan, US And UK Release Date; Sony Event On May 26 ‘Block Your Date’

Sony will hold an event in New Delhi on May 26 after sending invites hinting a water resistant device via water graphic advertisement. Two network carriers in Japan have already confirmed Xperia Z4 Series line-up indicating later release date in Australia, United States and United Kingdom.

Sony Mobile India released invites to the upcoming “Block Your Date” press conference to be held on May 26 in New Delhi. The invite contains a water graphic image hinting an upcoming water resistant device which could be the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua. But a source of Gizbot reported the possibility of another device to be unveiled on that day, likely official announcement of the local Xperia Z4 model. However, the source also tipped out the website that Xperia Z4 Tablet is unlikely to be launched at the said event.

Sony Xperia Z4 In Australia And Japan

Network carriers in Japan have confirmed the upcoming stocks of Sony Xperia Z4 devices. Reports from Gizmobolt unveiled the summer 2015 device line up of NTT DoCoMo which included Sony Xperia Z4 SO-03G, Xperia Z4 Tablet SO-05G and Xperia A4 SO-03G. It also clarified the Sony Xperia A4 as an upgraded version of Xperia Z3 Compact instead of Xperia Z4 Compact.

Second network carrier to confirm in Japan is KDDI with exclusive launching of Sony Xperia Z4 SOV31 and Xperia Z4 Tablet SOT31. Sony Xperia Z4 SOV31 is available in three colours – white, black and aqua green – which can be purchased around the middle of July of 2015. This model sports 5.2 inches of FHD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit octa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM chipset, 32 GB internal storage with microSD card support, 20.7 MP camera with 25 mm wide-angle and 1/2.3 inch sensor plus 12800 ISO, 5.1 MP front camera with 25 mm wide-angle and 2930 mAh battery packed in by aluminium frame and glass.

In Australia, only Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet is currently available based on official local website of Sony Mobile. The regional model sports 10.1 inches of display with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bt octa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, 8.1 MP rear camera, 5.1 MP front camera, 32 GB internal storage with microSD card support and 6000 mAh battery. Durability features include water resistance and dust tight certification IP65 and IP68, scratch-resistant glass and anti-fingerprint coating.

Release date for United States and United Kingdom remains unknown at this time regardless the official announcement of Sony Mobile. Based on reports from PCAdvisor and AndroidPit, Xperia Z4 is expected to be released much later this year, probably around September during the IFA 2015. Sony fans in Japan would be the first to make purchase of the Xperia Z4 Series in summer 2015 via NTT DoCoMo and KDDI.
