Sony Xperia Z5 vs. Xperia Z3+: Hardware and performance factors to consider before upgrading
GFXBench posted the performance and technical specifications of upcoming Sony Xperia Z5. It features similar processor, GPU, RAM and internal storage with Xperia Z3+ but performs better according to the benchmarking website.
Sony Xperia Z5 Leaked Specifications similar with Xperia Z3+
Rumored Sony Xperia Z5 appeared at the GFXBench website displaying essential hardware details such as display resolution, processor and graphics chipset. According to XperiaBlog, Xperia Z5 spotted at the benchmarking site has the model number of E6653 with 5.1 inches of screen display excluding the onscreen buttons, 1920 by 1080 resolution supporting at least five-finger gesture, 1.9 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit processor, Adreno 430 GPU, 3 GB of RAM chipset and 32 GB internal storage space. It features a 23 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing shooter.
Alleged Sony Xperia Z5 has similar hardware components to the current available flagship Xperia Z3+. Based on the official website of the smartphone, Xperia Z3+ boasts 5.2 inches of screen display, 1920 by 1080 display resolution with TRILUMINOS display engine and X-Reality for mobile, 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit processor, Adreno 430 graphics card, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage with up to 128 GB microSD card support. For mobile photography, Xperia Z3+ features a lesser 20.7 MP rear camera but has the similar 5 MP front-facing shooter. The following information could be revealed about the upgrades on Xperia Z5 once officially announced:
- Type of camera lens and sensors.
- New camera modes and capturing technologies.
- New model of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.
- Higher battery capacity.
- New software features from Sony Mobile.
GFXBench Report: Sony Xperia Z5 Performance defeated Xperia Z3+
Aside from technical specifications exposed on the alleged Xperia Z5, GFXBench revealed its performance on three high-level tests focused on OpenGL ES. Manhattan 3.1 test for the device resulted to 1173 frames or 18.9 frames per second onscreen, higher than the 866 frames or 14 frames per second on Xperia Z3+ aka Xperia Z4.
Xperia Z5 also scored higher on Manhattan 3.0 compared to Xperia Z3+ with 1571 frames versus 1044 of the current flagship. T-Rex performance showed 2883 frames on Xperia Z5 that defeated the 2113 frames on Xperia Z3+. However, GFXBench has not posted any results yet for other seven tests including ALU 2, Driver Overhead 2 and battery lifetime. Sony is expected to announce the upcoming Xperia flagship this week.
