‘Spider-Man’ PS4 game, release date, news: Insomniac Games wants fans to ‘stay tuned’; Rumours point towards a 2018 launch
Insomniac Games’ “Spider-Man” PS4 fans need to continue their long wait for the game before it hits the shelves. If reports are to be believed, the widely-anticipated title may not be launched till 2018.
Even though US retailer GameStop had listed the PS4 release date as Dec. 26, 2017, this was just a placeholder and fans need to wait longer to find out more. Insomniac Games hasn’t announced any official launch date for “Spider-Man” PS4.
According to Mobile & Apps, Insomniac Games dismissed all claims of the game getting released in December 2017 as “Spider-Man” PS4 is still at its early stages of development. A spokesperson for the studio had tweeted about the game’s release date and it was neither disappointing nor inspiring.
“That's a placeholder. No release date right now ... Likely not going to announce one anytime soon,” the spokesperson told Express.co.uk.
However, when fans started speculating that “Spider-Man” PS4 may not release in another two more years, Insomniac responded saying it is still working on it but dismissed the “two years” speculation.
“Who said it was 2 years away? Just stay tuned. We're still working on it and can narrow it down closer,” Insomniac said.
The “Spider-Man” PS4 game was unveiled with an in-game engine demo at E3 2016. The game will have a more seasoned Peter Parker who will have a tough time balancing his messy personal life with his career. The game reportedly features “blockbuster set-pieces,” environmental combat and new parkour abilities.
“Spider-Man” PS4 developer has confirmed that players should not worry about a PS4 Pro to better enjoy the game’s graphics. They assured that the original PS4 will be equally good. There is still no official gameplay footage yet although Insomniac has hinted a playable build.
Right now, players will have to wait, even for an official “Spider-Man” PS4 footage, as Insomniac is not ready. The game will be a PS4 exclusive.
