‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Reveals Multiplayer, Maps, Framerates And Links to ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
“Star Wars: Battlefront” has also been announced as a tie-in game. The game will be coming to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC on Nov. 17 in the U.S. and Nov. 19 in Europe. The movie, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” will debut on Dec. 18.
There’s a reason that “Star Wars: Battlefront” is coming first before the movie. According to Business Insider, there is one mission in the game that will contribute to the story in the movie. This will be the preorder mission titled “Battle of Jaku,” wherein players will witness the moment of confrontation between the New Republic and Imperial holdouts in a planet in the Outer Rim.
For fans of the entire franchise, that’s already one reason to pursue not only the movie but also the game. But the source also states that “Star Wars: Battlefront” goes beyond telling the franchise’s story. Multiplayer may be one of its strong suits, as a 40-person battle is waiting alongside several vehicles and characters that are familiar to Star Wars fans.
Engadget was able to explore some of the features of the multiplayer, stating that it has brought back the massiveness of the multiplayer for players to enjoy. This is coupled with cutting-edge technology, such as the use of Photogammetry to recreate the models of the vehicles that were used in the film.
Another touch that makes the “Star Wars: Battlefront” an epic title is that it breaks away from the kind of destruction that DICE is known for, as in the case of “Battlefield.” The multiplayer provides a mix of fun gaming, where good and evil still clash. And for those who just love to experiment with weapons, players also have the chance to customise their weapons and abilities.
There are a few more details that have been released, such as the frame rates and maps in the game. DualShockers reports that, according to Design Director for DICE, Niklas Fegraeus, there will be several maps accessible in the four planets in “Star Wars: Battlefront.” These maps are said to vary in sizes, ranging from small to large ones, so that there will be different types of modes and gameplays available to players.
The developer did promise that players will be taken to players that have never been seen before. Apart from this, there will be missions that can be played solo or in co-op mode in both online or offline. And for those who are very wary of frame rates of the game, the targeted resolution is 60 fps.
