'Star Wars: Episode 8': Leaked photos with fancy lights suggest night shooting; Daisy Ridley teases ‘cool’ Luke
Leaked pictures from the set of “Star Wars: Epsiode 8” suggest that there will be some night filming involved. The fancy lights around the doorways that the production crew has built can be fully utilised in the evening or at night.
Pictures posted on Star Wars Dubrovnik website show how the production crew has transformed the doors of some of the shops in the city, giving it a futuristic and alien look. Lights have been added around the doors and there is also an access panel at the entrance. The panels are similar to what have been seen in the movies from the franchise before and droids will be able to access the panel in the movie.
According to the report, filming will take place here between March 11th and 17th. The filming is said to be taking place between 4pm to 4am. Just two of the doors appear to have been completed, with the crew still working on the rest. The street will be closed to public from March 9, by which time most of the set work is expected to be completed.
It is not clear which planet Dubrovnik will be standing in for in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” Given that the producers have started introducing new planets to the franchise, this may turn out to be another new planet. Fans had praised the beautiful architecture of the buildings on planet Naboo and it will be interesting to see if the new movie introduces a planet that can match the beauty of Naboo.
Meanwhile, cast member Daisy Ridley (Rey) teased some information about the movie during the Oscars Red Carpet. In an interview with MTV, the actress revealed that she and Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) have been “rehearsing a lot” for the forthcoming movie.
“Star Wars: Episode 8” will pick up from right where “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” ends and Ridley said that it was “crazy” to do the same scene with a new director and crew. The actress teased that the forthcoming movie has a “good story” and “Luke is so cool in this one, really!”
