'Star Wars: Episode 8': So obvious who Rey's parents are- says Daisy Ridley

“Star Wars: Episode 8” will reveal who Rey’s parents are. However, Daisy Ridley believes that the background of the character is so obvious in the first film. Even after the big revelation in the next movie; the actress believes that it will raise more questions in the minds of the fans.

In an interview with Time Out, Ridley (Rey) said that a lot has been answered in “The Force Awakens” already. But, she found out that the fans are not clear about her character’s parents only when she went for a drink with her friends after the screening of the film.

Are there hidden clues in “The Force Awakens” that many of the fans have missed? The name most people are taking at the moment is Luke Skywalker (Mark Haimll). Whether or not the character is the father, Ridley is not saying. In the interview she said she can’t wait to see the expression on people’s faces when they find out in “Star Wars: Episode 8.”

The revelation of who Rey’s parents are will raise more questions, Ridley teased. The actress said that the questions the next movie will raise will be enough to keep the fans busy speculating for another two years, till the final movie in the new trilogy is released.

Ridley has been sharing hints about her character’s parents for some time now. In a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress confirmed that Han Solo (Harrison Ford) is not Rey’s father. In another interview with Elle, she gave clues about her character’s background by pointing out that she is strong and also a bit of a loner.

There are a lot of back stories that “Star Wars: Episode 8” will need to explore. Much of what happened after the fall of the Empire is slowly being revealed through the novels, but the major revelations will still happen in the movie.
