'Star Wars: Episode 8' theory about leaked scene: What's Rey carrying to Luke Skywalker
A previously leaked scene description of “Star Wars: Episode 8” talked about an interaction between Luke Skywalker and Rey on Ahch-To. A new theory about this scene looks at how it could be related to what Daisy Ridley’s character was carrying in “The Force Awakens.”
[Spoiler alert]
When Rey (Daisy Ridley) handed the blue lightsaber to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in “The Force Awakens,” she did so by removing it from her satchel. A new theory posted on YouTube by Mike Zeroh examines what else she may be carrying with her to Ahch-To.
Before leaving for Ahch-To, Rey was at the Resistance base and met with Leia (Carrie Fisher). Mike believes that it is possible that Luke’s sister had a message for the old Jedi master to implore him to rejoin the fight. The First Order has really expanded in his absence and the destructions of the planets in “The Force Awakens” has crippled the New Republic.
A previously leaked scene description of “Star Wars: Episode 8” stated that there is a scene in which Luke is speaking to Rey while looking at a datapad. Could this datapad contain a message from Leia explaining the current situation to her brother?
Mike compares this scene to “A New Hope” in which R2-D2 carried a message to Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guinness). This time it will be Rey carrying the message, instead of a droid, and Luke will the wise old Jedi master.
Luke is expected to return to the fight in the next film. This is something that Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) is concerned about, and he will do anything to prevent it from happening.
After Rey found out that she is Force sensitive, she is expected to begin her training to become a Jedi in “Star Wars: Episode 8.” The film will also reveal some back-story about Luke, and why he chose to go to Ahch-To.
