'Star Wars: Episode 9': Leaked details about a new ship

Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o) is yet to be confirmed as a cast member for “Star Wars: Episode 9,” but according to leaked details she will have a relatively big role to play. The character will get a massive ship, the details of which have surfaced online. The following article contains spoilers.

According to a report by Mike Zeroh [see below] Maz Kanata will be getting a new ship in the upcoming movie. The ship has been described as a large pirate ship.

The physical ship set is being designed and built at Pinewood Studios, where “Star Wars” films are generally filmed. The ship reportedly has large metallic wings that “emulate a cell.” The ship comes with a diverse crew, consisting of humans, aliens, and droids.

There is a big scene between Maz and Rey (Daisy Ridley). Readers should note that it was Maz who gave Luke’s (Mark Hamill) blue lightsaber to Rey in the first film in the new trilogy. The scene in the upcoming film is expected to show the alien explaining how she came into possession of the lightsaber. The big scene could also be about Rey getting her lightsaber repaired by either Maz or one of her crew members on her ship.

The other big scene to look forward to will be Rey meeting with Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams), a character from the original trilogy who will be coming back. Lando will reportedly share a scene with Maz. This scene is expected to be connected to Luke’s lightsaber. Lando may have found the weapon and given it to Maz.

Principal photography has begun for “Star Wars: Episode 9.” The film is being directed by JJ Abrams. It is set to be released on Dec. 20, 2019 in the US. The producers are yet to announce a release date for Australia.
