Actor John Boyega has told director JJ Abrams to rush a new trailer for the upcoming film “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“So connected with JJ [Abrams] and told him to hurry up with a trailer. Fingers crossed! That's all I can do. #injjwetrust,” Boyega wrote Wednesday on his Twitter account. The actor’s tweet came after unconfirmed reports in the media that the new trailer is overdue.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens’” last teaser trailer was released on Aug. 27 through the YouTube channel -- Star Wars Headquarters. In the video titled “Star Wars Episode 7 (VII): The Force Awakens Official Teaser Trailer 3: Kylo Ren vs Finn,” an unknown voice asks, “There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?” It has already gained 855,326 views as of Oct. 15.

Meanwhile, another trailer for the film will reportedly be released “soon,” which many “Star Wars” die-hard fans have earnestly been waiting for too long. Making Star Wars confirmed Wednesday that the official trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is set for an online release during ESPN’s football game on Monday night (Oct. 19).

An all new logo of “Star Wars” will also be revealed, the website added. The trailer, however, will debut in theaters alongside the international screening of “Spectre” movie on Nov. 6. Lucasfilm and Disney are expected to release an official statement about the release of the trailer prior to Monday.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will show in theatres on December 18.
