'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' has some 'complex' lingo; Rian Jonson tease frustrating fans
Cast member John Boyega and Director Rian Johnson teased some details about “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” recently. Every single online comment by those involved in the project is analysed closely by the fans, as they are seen as cryptic hints about the upcoming film. The end of that exercise often leads to frustration, till the next post by someone.
Boyega (Finn) shared a poster that was given to him as a gift from the director. This was apparently done to poke fun at the frustration of the actor when it came to picking up the new lingo in the film. The actor teased that the lingo is “complex,” which the fans will find out more about soon.
The franchise introduces new planets and interesting species and creatures from alien worlds. The upcoming sequel is expected to do the same. The fans can expect to see some new planets, and consequently new “lingo.”
Meanwhile, Johnson made a few comments about “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” to address the curiosity of the fans. When one of the fans asked the meaning of the title as a birthday gift, the director explained that it means “the final Jedi.”
Although the words last and final mean the same thing, the comment appears to have stirred up a storm among the fans. One of the fans pointed out that the words may appear to be the same on the surface, but the word “final” feels definitive, in the sense that there will not be any more followers of the old religion in the future.
Johnson attempted to explain that this is not the case and that both words can have “either meaning.” When one of the fans asked if the director felt pleasure or stress for knowing everything about a film the fans are so inquisitive about, he said that it was mostly pleasurable. However, at the same time, Jonson is cautious about making sure his comments don’t enrage any section of the fan base.
A recent post on Instagram by Jonson also felt like a tease from the upcoming movie. Some of the fans pointed out that the picture [see below] is not from the film, but the director remains tight-lipped about why he shared the picture.
There are a lot of fan theories about “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” One of the fans asked Johnson if “Rogue One” star Felicity Jones (Jyn Erso) is featured in his film. The fan explained that she has been contracted for an unnamed sequel. However, since the character is from a time period so long ago that it is nearly impossible for her to be alive during the events of the upcoming movie, the director was curious to know how the fan thought she could appear in the film.
