'Star Wars Rebels' season 3 episode 17 preview video: Assassin droid returns; Mon Mothma starts alliance

A familiar assassin droid will be back in “Star Wars Rebels” season 3 episode 17. A preview video has been released online, which reveals Senator Mon Mothma. The plot will focus on the first big attempt to build a credible alliance against the Empire.

The infiltration droid that was previously seen on episode 13 will be back. Hera (voiced by Vanessa Marshall), Zeb (Steve Blum), Ezra (Taylor Gray) and Chopper will go on a mission in space. In the preview video, they appear to be in some junkyard of space ships. While they are not expecting any Imperial presence, a droid comes along to scout.

In the scene, Hera scrambles to power down the ship and tries to avoid detection. Fans will recognise the probe droid to be the same one seen previously at Atollon. Their mission here is unclear, but another scene released online reveals the main plot.

Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) will get her first appearance in “Star Wars Rebels” season 3 episode 17. The preview video shows the senator seeking the help of the young heroes. She is in the initial stages of building a grand alliance against the Empire.

There are various rebel cells scattered across the galaxy. Senator Bail Organa (Phil LaMarr) has been actively aiding some of these cells and attempting to build a united force across the galaxy. Mon Mothma now has to attend a big meeting to help cement the alliance.

Mon Mothma apparently gave a call to fight against the Empire. All those who attend this big meeting will expect her there, and it is necessary to show them that they are not alone. The only problem is that the Empire will intercept any ship that tries to leave the system.

Hera promises Mon Mothma that there is a way to get to the meeting and bypass the Empire. After evading capture for many years, the young heroes are experts in running blockades.

The meeting for the formation of the rebel alliance will take place in Dantooine. Fans will also get to see Ezra showcase some of his piloting skills in “Star Wars Rebels” season 3 episode 17. The title of the episode is “Secret Cargo,” and the main plot will be about smuggling Mon Mothma to the meeting. The involvement of the Senator has so far been a secret, but with this act she will be out in the open and a target for the Empire.
