StarCraft II: The new eSport Announces Ticket Sales for 7th BlizzCon
Consider StarCraft II as a professional eSport gaming as Blizzard Entertainment announces that it has finally established the first-ever official global ranking system for StarCraft II eSports.
"The structure of the StarCraft II World Championship Series is the result of an ongoing collaborative effort between Blizzard and our partners," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "Our collective goal was to make StarCraft II eSports even more exciting and easier to follow for fans than ever before."
The World Championship Series will bring leagues in competition with each other for three seasons and three global season finals, with the BlizzCon being the venue for the grand global finale.
The global ranking system is operated in partnership with the world's premier eSports organizations, including the Korea eSports Association, Onegamenet, GomTV, Twitch, Turtle Entertainment, and Major League Gaming.
The World Championship Series will have three leagues form Korea, America, and Europe, and a unified global structure for players and major tournament organizers.
BlizzCon tickets on sale April 24 and 27
The 7th BlizzCon is all set for this year, and Blizzard Entertainment has finally announced the dates for the sale of tickets, which will be on April 24 and 27. To be held at the Anaheim Convention Center on November 8 and 9, the BlizzCon will feature discussion panels with Blizzard developers, hands-on playtime with the latest projects, and other events and activities.
BlizzCon 2013 will also be hosting the StarCraft II World Championship Series Global Finale, featuring the showdown of the top pro players in the world in search of the one who will be aptly crowed Star Craft II World Champion.
"We love having the opportunity to hang out with our players at BlizzCon, and it's always awesome to see the greatest gaming community on earth swarm Anaheim," said Morhaime.
"We look forward to delivering two full days of gaming, activities, and other entertainment, and we can't wait to show some of the exciting projects we've been working on."
Does this mean that there will be more to come from Blizzard Entertainment during its BlizzCon? Whatever the case may be, it seems that BlizzCon is going to be an exciting event.
You can buy your ticket at the official BlizzCon website at www.blizzcon.com for $175 USD on either of the dates mentioned. It will be on sale start 7 p.m. on April 24 and 10 a.m. on April 27, both on Pacific times.
Blizzard will also start selling tickets to the BlizzCon Benefit Dinner, priced at $500 USD, on May 1, with the proceeds going to Children's Hospital of Orange County. The event will be on November 7, and you'll be one of 200 privileged others who can dine and discuss with Blizzard game developers, community managers, and other staffers before the show
A BlizzCon Virtual Ticket is also sold to offer comprehensive live coverage f the event through multi-channel Internet stream, but the details are yet to be announced.
