Capcom may have accidentally announced the release date for “Street Fighter V” for the PC and PlayStation 4. The announcement was discovered online through a merchandising post for the game.

According to VG247, the release date announcement for the PC and PS4 version of “Street Fighter V” was initially posted at the bottom of Capcom’s Unity post. The notice has since been removed but the site managed to keep a screenshot of the same post which reads, “Everyone is fired up for Street Fighter 5 coming to the PS4 and PC next Spring. Until then, you can sport the official SFV key art T-shirt, which features Ryu in a heroic pose, for $25.”

The release date announcement may have supposedly been a slip of the tongue since some sentences were removed from the Unity post. One sentence deleted reportedly includes Capcom’s notice that “Street Fighter V” for the PC and PS4 will be released in the Spring of 2016. No specific release date was mentioned. However, a Capcom representative recently confirmed with IGN that the “launch window listed” on the Unity post is only temporary and that an official release date has yet to be announced. According to Game Spot, Amazon and Best Buy, on their Web site, have pegged “Street Fighter V” for the PC and PlayStation 4 for an unofficial March 31, 2016 release.

Capcom unveiled “Street Fighter V” during the PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas held in December last year, where it announced that the game will be PlayStation 4 and PC exclusive. As for returning characters, so far only Ryu, Chun-Li, and Street Fighter Alpha veteran Charlie have reportedly been confirmed to return to the game.

According to Game Spot, Capcom recently announced its plans to run a public beta test on “Street Fighter V.” The test will reportedly be done on the PlayStation 4 and PC, and gamers are encouraged to share their opinions and feedback so developers can ensure the game will be at its best before release. No further details were provided regarding the said beta test, but Capcom claims it would be the "largest and most ambitious online beta program in franchise history."
