'Suicide Squad': Find Out What David Ayer Has To Say About Jared Leto's Role As The Joker
“Suicide Squad” is one of the most awaited films of 2016. The film will focus on the DC super villains where they will come together to form a task force and will implement a dangerous task in order to have a lesser prison time. The supervillians will consist of The Joker, Deadshot, Harley Quinn and others. David Ayer, who is directing the film recently, described The Joker’s character in “Suicide Squad.” Jared Leto is playing the character and David recently took to Twitter to describe The Joker played by Leto. He tweeted that Leto’s Joker is “majestic.”
According to comic books, The Joker is a criminal investigator. He is a psychopath and has a merciless sense of humour. The Joker is a Batman nemesis and the character was created by Jerry Robinson, Bill Finger and Bob Kane. The Joker first appeared in Batman #1. The Joker’s skin turns white, his hair turns green and his lips turns red when he falls in an acid tank. The changes alters his mental state. The Joker has been previously played by Heath Ledger in “The Dark Knight.” The actor received a posthumous Academy Award for playing the character in the film.
Meanwhile, Leto is reportedly gaining weight to recreate The Joker in Ayer’s film. The actor is eating every two hours, according to Billboard magazine. The actor also said it is a challenge to play The Joker. “The opportunity to take on this nearly Shakespearean character -- that's what graphic novels and comic books are becoming, right? [He's] this beautiful disaster of a character -- what a big challenge,” he said to the magazine.
On the other hand, Ayer also shared photos from the film’s set. In the pictures, sets can be seen getting erected. He also added another photo where the lighting panels, to be used while shooting, can be seen.
“Suicide Squad” has been written by David and apart from Leto it also stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Cara Delevingne, Jai Courtney and others.
