'Suicide Squad' star Jared Leto says goodbye to The Joker and goes back to being a rock star
The much-awaited Australian premiere of DC’s Suicide Squad is on Thursday, and with its arrival comes an expected blockbuster for actor and lead singer Jared Leto. After winning an Oscar, acquiring a former Air Force base, and of course landing the iconic role of The Joker, Jared Leto finally found some much needed time to make music with his band, 30 Seconds to Mars.
30 Seconds to Mars released a video clip of not more than a minute on Monday, featuring the alternative rock band recording music and spending time in the desert. It also features a brief shot of Leto doing yoga in a tie-dyed adult onesie, something fans would bet The Joker would never wear.
According to Teamrock the band members were previously caught in a battle with EMI/Virgin Records after they attempted to walk away from their contract. They left Virgin Records in 2014 and are expected to release their fifth album on Interscope, the record company responsible for diverse and multi-award winning artists like U2, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, The 1975, and so much more.
“I don’t hate on record companies, I’m just anti-corruption, anti-greed,” Leto stated before. “I think record companies can make fair, clear deals with artists and still be really profitable. So we’re looking at our options. We have several labels that want to work with us. They know what we’ve been through”
Perhaps the change in record label was what the band needed the most to focus on writing their music.
It’s been three years since the band released their latest album, “Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams,” which peaked at Billboard Hot 200. The band took a lot of time to finally start their latest record, but fans will be thrilled at listening to new content from 30 Seconds to Mars.
