‘Suicide Squad’ update: Statue collectibles of characters to be released soon, official synopsis reveals possible spoilers
Four statues of the “Suicide Squad” ensemble will be released while the new synopsis for the film has already been posted.
The statues are modeled after their film counterparts. Deadshot was sculpted by Adam Ross, Harley Quinn and The Joker were sculpted by James Marsano and Killer Croc was sculpted by Alterton.
Comicbook Movie reported that The Joker will be 12 inches in height and that the official images for the collectibles will be released soon.
“Suicide Squad” will become a vital cog in the DC universe once it comes out in theaters. The film’s star-studded cast will portray well-known DC villains in the comic books. The ensemble is composed of Jared Leto as Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot and Cara Delevigne as The Enchantress, among others.
According to the new synopsis at DComics.com, the protagonists of “Suicide Squad” are incarcerated villains who are disparate and despicable individuals with nothing to lose. The group will be assembled by US intelligence officer Amanda Waller played by Viola Davis.
The official synopsis also revealed that the supervillains were only handpicked because they are dispensable since they have patent culpability as a consequence of their past crimes. In the last part of the synopsis, DC asks, “Will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?”
Earlier this year, Latino Review sources claim that the band of misfits will take out an armored convoy to acquire the Enchantress’ biological weapons. In an interview with Seth Myers, Delevigne hinted that Enchantress will be the wildcard of the film.
David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad” serves as the anti-thesis to Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” which will reportedly feature more “Justice League” heroes. The anticipation for the film has been high since the trailer leaked at the San Diego Comic-Con a few months ago.
"Suicide Squad" opens on Aug. 5, 2016.
