‘Suits’ Returns This Summer, What To Expect In Season 5 [TEASER VIDEO/SPOILERS]

USA Network’s “Suits” will be returning this summer with Season 5. The Season 4 finale of this popular legal series has changed the relationship status of Rachel and Mike as well as has changed the dynamics of Harvey and Donna’s relationship. Rachel and Mike got engaged, while Donna quit her job as Harvey’s secretary. The upcoming episodes of “Suits” Season 5 are set to explore these two changed relationships.

It can be said that the dramatic change in these two relationships happened because of a secretary who never had a storyline in “Suits.” In Season 4 final episode, Louis’ secretary Norma, who was never seen on screen, died. Her death laid the foundation for the two major twists in the final moments of episode 16.

Donna helped Louis come to terms with the loss of a secretary he never valued. With Norma gone, Louis needed a secretary and he offered Donna the job. He felt that they get along real well and believed that Harvey does not value her enough. Donna refused the offer initially but at the end of the episode, she informed Harvey that she is leaving him and will be working for Louis.

Aaron Korsh, creator of “Suits,” has told TV Guide that they have no intention to ‘rapidly’ reinstate Donna as Harvey’s secretary. He did not rule out the possibility of Harvey getting a new secretary or Harvey trying to get Donna back as his secretary. Korsh said that Harvey will go through “whatever he will go through when you lose your secretary in terms of emotion and practically speaking to replace her and everything.” Meanwhile, Donna will be seen caught between Louis and Harvey in Season 5 and she will have to choose, according to Korsh. Donna working for Louis will cause trouble for each of the character and will be tough for everyone.

It is Louis’ heartfelt tribute to his secretary that made Mike go down on his knee and propose to Rachel. Mike was inspired by Louis' words, “Don’t let the moment pass. Don’t let the people you love not know how you feel.” It is, however, not going to be an easy ride for the newly engaged couple. The wedding bells are not going to ring anytime soon, as “Suits” writers are planning to introduce new conflicts in Rachel and Mike’s relationship. Some issues in the relationship are going to surface because of Rachel’s father, Robert Zane. In the upcoming Season 5, there is a story arc related to a legal case that involves Mr Zane and Pearson Spector Litt, which is going to have an impact on the couple’s relationship, Korsh has revealed.

“We’ve had a major coming together and a major splitting up at the end of four, and we’re going to carry those through to season five,” Korsh said to The Hollywood Reporter. The production on “Suits” Season 5 is expected to begin soon.
